I am going to do this! Filed in Chantix
I have been on Chantix for not quite 3 weeks, including the starter pack. (The only thing is, I have missed a few times, but not any more!) Am I the only one struggling with quitting? I have cut back to half of what I was smoking. I made my mind up that Today, May 1st, I am officially a NON- Smoker. I haven't smoked since last night, but I still am having the urges. I just have to try to think of something else. One good thing is, when I asked my grown Daughter if this med worked for me, woul ...

I'm now a non smoker Filed in Chantix
I started taking chantix on May8, 2007 and three weeks later I was off the meds and smoke free! I could tell this was going to work by the third day/ First I notice that at certain times that I would normally smoke like on breaks at work, I noticed that I was wanting a smoke. Then my smoke started to taste funny almost like they were stale. then I notice that Iwasn't getting any statisfaction from the smokes. So I was basically smoking just to smoke. I wouldn't say that I have cravings or urges ...

week 3 and going strong Filed in Chantix
I've been taking chantix for 4 wks now and have been smoke free for 3 weeks. I am 51 yrs old and have smoked for 35 years and never ever thought of myself as a non smoker. only within the last week do I see myself as that smoke free person and it feels good. The one thing that I keep telling myself to help those physical urges is its easier to quit and deal with these urges( that dont last) then it is to be a smoker worried about if the next cigarette will be the one that gives me lung disea ...

Am I the only one? Filed in Chantix
I wanted to comment on Chantix. I was sceptical at first but desperate to do something as I almost died from smoking. I got H1N1 and because of my pack a day habit my lungs were weak enough that I got double pnuemonia and was hospitalized for a week. Almost didn't make it. After that I started smoking again like an idiot and went to Chantix for help. I quit in 4 days..... By the third day the taste of a cig was so terrible that I took one puff and threw it on the ground. I almost had to f ...

This is my second week taking chantix, an I'm still smoking! How long is it until I don't have the cravings for a cigarette anymore! An how long does it take for the chantix to kick in? Hi Mj, The guidelines for taking Chantix list the following information (that may help address your question): 1. Choose a Quit Date when you will stop smoking. 2. Start taking CHANTIX one week (7 days) before your Quit Date. This lets CHANTIX build up in your body. You can keep smoking during this ...

Sleep problems/what helped me... Filed in Chantix
I have been on chantix 6 weeks...totally smoke free for 4 weeks...however my sleeping pattern was awful...three nights ago I quit taking 2 dose and just taken morning...slept like a baby since.... If you missed two doses of chantix in a row, it's likely that your body was probably experiencing some early effects of withdrawal symptoms. If or when you decide to stop taking the medication, I'd highly recommend contacting your doctor first in order to get proper instructions for tapering off. A ...
