Flunisolide Overview
Flunisolide (marketed as AeroBid, Nasalide, Nasarel) is a corticosteroid often prescribed as treatment for allergic rhinitis.[1] In the United Kingdom it was formerly marketed as Syntaris, but this was recently discontinued by the manufacturers.[2] The principal mechanism of action of flunisolide is to activate glucocorticoid receptors, meaning it has an anti-inflammatory action. I have been using Syntaris / flunisolide in the UK for some 20 years. Since it has been discontinued I have tried others recommended by a doctor but both dried up the nose with very irritating results,. Can anybody suggest an alternative Flunisolide that might be available in the UK, or elsewhere by post ?
