Withdrawal symptoms after 4 months?
I came off A almost 4 months ago. It was very hard at first (I cut the dose in half for a few weeks and then I took away the last half), I couldn't sleep for two months, almost got crazy, but now I can sleep again. Instead now I'm tired all the time. Just wanna sleep. I've got an iron deficiency and also allergy, so maybe that's the reason I'm so tired, I don't know. What I wanted to ask you is something that's been happening lately and scares the h** out of me. When I'm about to fall asleep I get these chills, get cold, and it tingles down my spine, it's like I could feel all the nerves in my spine and I understand this doesn't sound like something scary maybe, but I instantly wake up terrified and with tremendous anxiety and shaking from being so cold; I fall asleep again, it happens again and so on. I have to force myself out to bed bc I'm so frightened. I usually have to take benzodiazepines when this happens bc I feel like I'm losing my mind. Also, in the recent few weeks I'm

Side effects after long term usage
After twenty two years on amitrypt 150mg at night for treatment of neuropathic pain I am now suffering from an inability to stabilise my body temperature ? Due to damage done to my hypothalamus by taking this drug I am constantly sweating profusely and going hot then cold no matter what clothes I am wearing or what the weather is like. I recently stopped taking it having been put on other drugs for depression and bitterly regret the years I did spend taking it when the only side effect I was told about was a possibility of an increased appetite and weight gain Please can someone tell me more about the damage to the hyper thalamus and whether it as I fear may be a permanent factor of my very uncomfortable lifestyle

I can't remember anything since I started taking Amitriptyline 50mg a day for Trigeminal Neuralgia. I used to be on a quiz but all the answers I used to know have gone. Is it just me?

Is Anafranil the same as Amitriptyline?
I have moved to Greece. I have had a Amitriptyline prescription for chronic nerve pain from the UK since 2006 until now. The Greek Pharmacy has given me ''Anafranil'', he has told me it is the same thing. Does anyone know if this is true? I am a little worried, I only use this at night and Tramadol during the day. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you.

Amitriptyline to relieve Tramadol Withdrawal?
I've been on 100 mg of tramadol 2x per day for a little over 1 month this time. I'm having s horrible time detoxing c/t although I've tried many times. After 2 times with refills my gp refuses another script. My neurologist recently prescribed Amitriptyline 50 mg per night for sleep and pain. My question is can the amitriptyline help with horrible day 2 withdrawal I'm experiencing? I never want to see tramadol again b/c of the sickening control I gave it over my life. Told husband at least my head and neck pain let me feel normal instead of some side show. If anyone has experience bei.g on amitriptyline while detcing from tramadol will you please help? Thanks to all!!
