@Streetrx #53 You had a couple remarks wrong, not all, so I thought I would make it all right. First you kept saying FAD. I think you meant FDA. that took me awhile for some reason. The reason the brand names are more is they have exclusive rights for 17 only years and the time spent developing the drug they make nothing, they loose money,BUT the real reason is they can rip you off, Lipitor made something like 35 billion dollars before it went generic the other month and they can still sell generics. Upjohn had the first generics out on Xanax, they looked exactly the same, just instead of Upjohn on one side, it had Greenstone, a pharmaceutical company owned by Upjohn. There are foreign companys here that make meds in the USA. Teva is an Ireland Company as an example, which I "heard" bought Barr. Sometimes the generic is slightly stronger than the brand. The difference is they have a percentage they have to fall in of active ingredient and the binders (filler holding) the pill together or coloring and shape can be different. Taking 12mg is a lot of Xanax to take daily, obviously you just getting high and 24 will not make you any higher after a month or 2. Then no mattewr how many you take won't do a thing, but take aniety away, and if you have been daily for a year or 3, you will feel like crap and you will for months, a seizure is possible, have fun .

You can buy Xanax online, but not from a US pharmacy unless you have a prescription. It is a highly controlled drug. I have taken Xanax for 12 years. I NEVER abuse it my taking more than my prescribed dose. This medication has allowed me to calm down enough to sleep and to function during the day. When you truly need it, that is, you have anxiety, Xanax doesn't make you feel euphoric or high at all. It simply calms you down. You feel "normal." If you take it to get high, like any other strong drug, you can get hooked and if you do and take it regularly, watch out! If you stop cold turkey, you can have a seizure. This is not a drug to play with.

I hope you were able to get off of those insidious drugs. Xanax is a horrifying drug, which has an increased chance for tachycardia, racing heart, etc.

You dr. Should be reviewed. Get a second opinion (I am not a Dr. But a victim of that awful drug.

I thought this thread was about grapefruit juice and Xanax? Xanax has roughly a 90% first pass bioavailability, meaning that 90% of the med gets into your bloodstream the first time through your liver. This is why it works so fast, and leaves your system fast as well. Grapefruit juice shuts down the enzyme in your liver that metabolizes benzos. The heartburn med Tagamet will do this also. So technically it will allow a small amount of extra Xanax to enter your system faster, but you're only looking at a few extra % points. As for half-life, even though it has one ranging from 8-12 hrs, the effects are only felt for around 4 hrs for someone who takes them on a regular basis. For insomnia, the occasional user, (couple times a week MAX), will be asleep for the whole night on the correct dose.

6-12 2mg tabs of xanax a day thats so dangerous especially is you stop suddenly. You will definitely have a seizure if you stop xanax suddenly or if you run out for a day or two. As far as the brand name being more potent, that is totaly not true. The FAD has standers for generic meds. They have to have the same ingredients, and amounts of set mednations. Plus they are made in the same state of the art factorys that the brand is. The generic versions are cheaper because they dont have to spend as much money on marketing. It really breaks down to preference. I prefore the generic yellow 2mg Xanax over the generic white ones, they are even are both made in the same state, NJ. Some people are allergic to the dies in some generic meds so they have to have the brand name witch does not contain that die -coloring. All the generic meds are made in the USA for us and are never imported. Plus they are controled by tight regulations from the FAD.

Xanax is highly addictive . was developed for people who had less than six month to live. Slowly get off it as you can go into convolutions. Try Rescue Remedy, or Valarian. and meditation.. Drugs are not the answer it does not get to the problem it masks it.

Absolutely. Meditation Music, Mantra , Massage , Mudra and Mother earth --true LOVE are the real answers.
YOGA and Indian Pranayam will help you beyond doubt.
Prayers are solutions to most of the problems.

I have had anxiety and depression for last few years. I take one .5mg xanax twice daily and it helps out a lot for when I have an anxiety attack and depending on my anxiety level I will take more or less to deal with anxiety. I also have a hard time falling asleep, I stay asleep if I fall asleep but it takes hours to finally fall asleep. I just started ambien for the sleep problem but they make me feel all weird and then keep me awake. Their supposed to make me sleep and its pissing me off. I just want to sleep fine like when I was a kid

Get a second opinion. Get a third and fourth if you have to. Personally, I would suggest you talk to a holistic practitioner as they tend to be more interested in CURING your health issues whereas most doctors will only throw pills at you to mask the symptoms of them... rather than fixing the underlying problems. Xanax is not the answer, ESPECIALLY, when you don't even think you need it.

What online pharmacy did you use? I've tried several & they always send me placebo pills (i.e. they aren't xanax at all, just sugar pills). I'd love to know the link or website you used, if you don't mind. And if they are that strong, try using a pill cutter & cutting them in half or even in fourths. Thanks & good luck!

Don't buy small doses, buy the strongest and break them into the size you want, a lot cheaper overall

I too had ordered alprazolam online and my first order form India was legit. when I spoke to a sales rep, he thought i should be ordering from inside the states. Well need less to say, I agreed. 2 Mg bars were completely bogus !! So Im waiting for myrefund and new order back from India. Keep ya posted a be careful you never know who you can trust!!
