okay so what your all saying is; if snorting pills, they go through your system faster than popping them? and i see that by what you all are saying that opanas leave your system faster than a roxy....? if so, help. my man snorted 45 mg of roxy two days ago, has a drug test today. hes drinking water and taking a cvs drug test to make sure hes ok but im still worried. hes not active and his metabolism is very slow. what can we do

If your going to a Dr for Subs then you want to have smthing in your system! I've been on Subs for about 5 months now and when I first went everyone told me to make sure I had something in my system so that the Dr could see that I was using!

I have been a pacient who recieves opiates for more than five years. I am drug screened monthly and am informed of the results afterwards. The doctor tests and then informs me of what drug was found in my urine and how much of each drug. For example the doctor can tell wether I take my meds as prescribed or if I just took a pill that morning just to have it in my system. Some people believe that all opiates show up the same in a drug screening. That is not true because if they did then doctors would not drug screen, they want to know exactly which opiate you took and how much of it. For example if you are prescribed lortab and take a perocet you will fail a drug screen. I just want people to know the facts about opiates so they will not get into trouble with their doctor. In other words all opiates do not show up as the same medication on a urine test. Don't take opinions find the facts to make sure you will not get into trouble. Good luck

i have recently been on suboxone and methadone both but i have to find a new doctor. I couldn't find anything so i took an opana 20mg on a monday....which did absolutely Nothing to me. But i had a drug screen on wednesday and i think the opana still was in my system. do you think when they send it off to the lab that there will be enough in my system to detect?

Typically they do that as a physician precaution. Idk exact details but I too receive them randomly but the ones @ my physician's office is to check more in depth of the concentration lvls so to ensure you are not selling the CII's or abusing them. I've come up w weed in me n had no issues once b4, but it is best to not even have that in u bc it I all dependent of your relationship w your pain mgmt Dr and some will not tolerate any mixing of illicit drugs. But to give my best response to that question, it shows the concentration of and mixing of drugs in ur system to help treat u and cover their a**es too. Honestly I don't blame them. Bc if I had gone to school as long as most MD's or DO's I personally wouldn't Anna have a death or OD on my concience either.. esp when one eff up could make them lose their schooling / license by one addict Effin up. Google medication concentration calculations and read up on it tho. They typically base these lab tests in ng/mL.

Now in these terms, if you have something risky in ur system, such as cocaine, heroin, etc.. I can guarantee the physician WILL cut you off pain meds or refer you u to opiate replacement therapy, bc unlike weed, those illicits have a HIGH probability of overdose mixing with Rx meds.
Reguardless, it all depends on quite a few factors.

Your DR's relationship + ways of treatment

As I said in a prior post tho, email me n ill get a better answer for u.

Atm I'm sitting in a SHOTTY hospital, n bout to bounce bc its been nothing helpful only getting worse. Anyway snail. I'll vdko

Mr.Hawk, I am on prescription oxy, 60 mg a day for two back surgeries. New laws now makes anyone with a prescription narcotic must give a standard urine test upon prescript being re-filled. Just wonder if the test simply shows what type of drug is in your system or do they detail exactly how much of it is in the system? Thanks for the help, much appreciated.

Also j/m.. the First Check drug screen did not show ANY trace of me taking Opana ER 2x / day and Vicodin ES 4x / day, under OPIATES. So if u grab the test that only shows up "Opiates" (any less than 12 panel from what is in local drug stores by me), and it shows u are "clean", it is a false sense of hope. You will fail a lab screen for sure. Hope this helps.

Drugser baaaad.. mm-kay..? Lol. Bad but soo good. What a clusterf*ck don't you agree?
Seriously tho.. as fun as they are, anything can eff up a persons live w/o moderation. And I do NOT mean moderation as in, "Oh I only do 2 bag shots 2x / day". THAT'S NOT moderating.. that's justifying or rationalizing.

*Amanda... Most pain pills are NOT opiates.. opiates are naturally occurring alkaloid derived ingredients. (Such as codeine, morphine, diacetyl morphine, and others with those ingredients.) What is surely does NOT include is hydrocodone (Vicodin), oxycodone (Percocet & Oxycontin), hydromorphone (Dilaudid), and oxymorphone (Opana ER & IR). These are all OPIOIDS! I had taken a home drug screen a wk ago (First Check), and I also get drug screened through a lab randomly up to 3x per week, and the ONLY things in my system are Opana ER and Vicodin. These BOTH come up as OPIOIDS. When they look @ the OPIATES panel, it comes up as 0ng/mL. First Check has a special Rx drug 12 panel test and it shows both.. bc opiates is to show if ur kid or whoever is doing Heroin(diactylmorphine), morphine, or codeine.. and the Opioids shows the rest (generally). Lab shows the same, although some labs are different. I'm on a no tolerance levels, expanded 5 panel lab set bc of probation. And I did not get my info from the PO's or anyone is that program.. I took an interest and asked a local Phlebotomist @ the hospital. All I'm stating though, is there IS a difference, and if you are ignorant to these things.. all we ask here is to please do not try to give advice that could potentially be wrong. I used to be uninformed as many ppl are, and listened to some quack advice on a forum in which the ppl were completely incorrect, and I failed drug screens bc I listened to those ppl. Therefore getting my a** locked up. Now I still say, if u are unsure bout doing s***, abstinence is best mostly bc I wish jail on noone(its boring as f*** and s***ty food), but it is easier to get thru probation and recovery, THEN if you choose to get effed up after, it is ur choice as a consenting adult. Kids, I advise against bc it really messes up coping mechanisms and development of key features which DEF shows later in life.. but I'm not here to judge(Well maybe a LIL bit), but try to spend some spare time guiding w/ the knowledge I've obtained thru exp. This way others don't hafta learn the hard way as I had in the past.

In general, all I'm asking is if ppl are going to post, plz post stuff you know about(and not bc "you've heard it from some Jimmy Jacka** somewhere). But to speak from exp or state how u came about this knowledge. Nobody else deserves to pay for mistakes for listening to ppl that learned incorrectly. Anyway, no.. Hawking is no relation. Heh. But I like to think we share that love for knowledge. But for truth not just any info.

Thanks all for listening to me rant and ramble. ANYONE who needs info answered regarding anything I'm more than happy to help.. or try. If I cannot I will reply and say straight out.

Always willing and glad to help. Have fun ppl. Goodnight.

Most pain pills are opiates so no matter if u took a vicodin or snorted an opana they will both come up as an opiate. They say it takes 48 to 72 hours but I think u should be stop 4 to 5 days prior just to be safe and if ur still nervous u can always go to a drug store annd buy a drug test so that you know

Thanks Mike Hawk. Your explanation is very informative and offers some good common sense. I agree misleading and inaccurate information cause more trouble. Abstinence is really the answer but we know this is hard to do.

Weight has absolutely NO effect on opiates.. they bind to protein not fat.. and as for the person saying that probation uses same tests that u could obtain for household use.. BULLS**T. They use an expanded 5 panel test n check for creatine lvls, sp gravity, metabolites and quite a few other aspects that home tests DO NOT.. unless u just so happen to have a lab in ur household. Seriously ppl.. y talk sh*t when u don't even get it yourselves? Read the long ass post below.. that's real info taken from multiple pdf's from pharmaceutical companies, probation program counselors, and ACTUAL toxicologists. So please stop posting BS that some of u pull outta your asses. This s**t is y so many of u are misinformed in the first place. Do ur gd research first b4 typing..

Yes your weight does have n effect on how long it stays in your urine for wen I first got out of jail I was 135 pounds n my normal weight is 120 n it stayed in my system alot longer cause it holds on to ur fat tissues longer I lost my weight n now it gets out of my system faster if u make urself sweat alot that helps get it out of ur system faster

for JJ.
depends on if u r still in a lot of pain or not. if u r, it'll be better to just let the dr. help u decide that, and if u taper down off them. i went to a methadone clinic for 2 years, and that sucks. u don't have a chance at all to not have some if not a whole lot of withdrawal. just have to go a .25 of a mg each time they take u down off them. or better yet, let a methadone clinic dose u down off them. i promise, u don't want to do it cold turkey. i literally code blued in the er when i tried that.
