Lyrica does work for myself. But I started having side effects. Double vision, being tired all the time, confusion, didn't even remember my age and that might be a good thing. But the drug is awesome for taking the nerve pain away. Just pay attention to side effects. Cindy

Hello. It was good for the nerve pain. Incredible actually! I've been off the drug for 6 mos and I STILL have blurry vision AND neuralgia pain in my foot. Never had this pain until I came off of Lyrica. Lost all the weight though. Cheers! Christine

HI CHRISTINE I have taken, The Med You WERE and the doctor told me to take it with an depression drug and it gave me suicidal thoughts and also you can gain weight with this medication . so it also gives you the hot flashes so always look on the computer for information on what kind of drugs your doctor gives you , they sometimes rush you out of the office after giving you them , so always ask questions on the drugs they give you . I start talking the LYRICA today and I am kind of scared to start . so what does it help the most the nerve pain or the muscle pain? very confused.

I have been on Pregabalin (Lyrica) for over 4 years. My dose was being increased on a regular basis and I was eventually on the top dose of 600mg a day. I have now weaned myself down to 100mg and hope to finish this next week. The symptoms I have experienced are cramping in my stomach and diarreah. I do feel better after 4 or 5 days though. I feel I have been quite lucky because I have read a lot of people having a lot worse withdrawals.

I've been taking Lyrica for 3 years now 450 mg and due to a change in my insurance policy I couldn't get my meds on time. This is the first time I'm withdrawing and I have the same symptoms as you do. After 4 days,
Nausea, dizziness, chills, not sleeping, very cold and then very hot, dearreha, hallucinations; I'm considering to give it up before putting this poison in my body again.

I have been on Pre gablin ( Lyrica) 75 mg for last 6 months after Heart Attack. Now with Exercise, Meditation and Massage my leg pains are reduced. Each time I take medicine , I pray and invoke Divinity in my own way and visualize that smaller dose will act, & this has DEFINITELY helped.I would suggest All Lyrica users to halve the dose and try this with faith.
IncidentELYI have also reduced Cholesterol lowering medicine's dose and instituted very strict Diet control.
The answer to All such pains lies within ourselves.I will be happy for any help /assistance ..GOD BLESS ALL

I feel like I am dying. I was taking 900 mg of Lyrica daily because I misunderstood the directions. A terrible fault I am suffering horridly for. I ran out so early that the pharmacists refuse to refill it even to taper off of. I'm on day 6 of detox and i'm in agonizing pain. A terrible smell haunts my nose, my stomach and lower abdomen feel like they're being squished, I'm always cold, but unbearably hot when under cover. I can't eat...I can't sleep. When I do fall asleep for maybe 30 mins I wake up in terrible pain and stay awake for the rest of the night with the smell, nausea, tremors, cold chills, hot flashes, head aches, and diarrhea never ending. NEVER. Someone...please...anyone..help me. I can't live like this. I thought it would be over or at least subsiding. My mom got back from her doctor at the family clinic and he told her that it was insane for them to let me detox like this. "Life threatening" were his words. I called poison control at day 3 and they said that no one has physical withdrawals from lyrica, that my symptoms are most likely coming from the oxycontin...but I was still taking the oxy when I started feeling this way..it's how I know that i'm suffering from quitting the lyrica. What do I do...

Since I have cut back on Lyrica over the past 6 weeks (from 300mg/day to 25mg/day) I have had horrible pain in my left foot and ankle. Also my left wrist hurts. I am now in a walking air cast as per foot doctor as he said I have a "gross ankle inversion injury" yet I didn't do anything. I think it is from the Lyrica as well!! Hard to get off of!!

I've taken Lyrica (4 pills a day or 300 mg) & 30 mg of hydrocortisone to offset pain from prednisone induced diabeties. After a few months, I have had enough of the excess bloating and I have been tapering off. Each time I taper down, I get naseau, headachy, extra joint pain, stomache pain and sleeplessness. I will be so glad to be off as many medications as possible.

I had/have all of the same symptoms. I also gained 6 lbs in a few weeks. I have weaned down to 25mg 2 times a day. Don't know if my disc has healed or of I have enough of the Lyrica in my body but I feel much better. I still have the blurry vision, my memory has come back and I have lost the wieght. Even weaning of this med is hard. Mood swings galore and VERY tired and a mild constant headache. Lyrica definately got me through the first 2 mos of my herniated disc but my advise is to try to get off of at ASAP.

I have been on Lyrica for 5 weeks and it has been awesome for reducing my nerve pain due to a herniated disk in my neck. I have had very blurry vision, the shakes (for the first 2 weeks) and some nauceousness. For the past 5 days I have been reducing the amount I am taking in the morning from 150 mg to 75 mg. I continued to take 150 mg at night. As of last night I reduced the night-time dose to 75 mg. I have noticed the headache already and also my pain has increased some what. I have had a lot of bloating and have gained on average a pound a week. I have noticed a lot of hair loss ass well. I do want to get off of this drug...has anyone tried Gabapentin? I keep hearing from other people (LPN and Massage Therapist) that I should be on that drug... thanks

Has anyone noticed that after taking Lyrica you have very little patience. I take 75mg three times a day and was always easy going and mellow, not anymore. I don't even like myself.

Just started on Lyrica. I take 50 mg in the morning and 100 mg before bed. I went to a health screening with HealthYes. My blood pressure was 95/51. I've never been that low. I'm going to talk to my doctor ASAP. On the plus side, my facial pain is almost completely gone.

UPDATE......It took six days to get the situation corrected and get me back on the Lyrica. Although I was on a very low dose, 50 mg tid, I was still having tremendous withdrawl symptoms on day six. The first dose made me a bit more comfortable. The second dose stopped the heavy sweats and chills. After the third dose, I was back to normal. My part D provider has committed to covering this medication for me until March of 2008. I have never experienced this degree of withdrawl from an opiate. Best wishes to all.

I have taken Lyrica successfully for a year. When DH went to pick my meds up on Saturday, the pharmacist advised him that my Part D would no longer cover it. I had taken my last dose and within 24 hours, I was in full blown withdrawl. My doc faxed the company early yesterday morning and they have 72 hours to respond. I have a feeling they will take the full amount. The withdrawl hasn't even started to subside yet and I am furious. This is the third med. they have dropped in three months.

I too tried lyrica. I was fine on neurontin but the doctor gave me samples of lyrica. Well, my hands got swollen, my feet, and I was miserable. I talked to the neurologist and he said yes, many of his patients complained about swelling in hands and feet and numbness. So,b ack on the neurontin. I think if this side affect is common, the drug should not be on the market. we already have neuropathy's and issues with numbness and swelling.

Dear SUSIE,

Yes their are enough of a pain relieving narcotic in LYRICA to cause the withdrawl symptoms that you mentioned, but the good news is that the dose of narc. medicine is so low that after about three to five days your ststem will go back to normal. Personally I think LYRICA is a great drug for me. I am a severe diabetic and have alot of leg pain due to the
diabetis, and I take 300 mgs three times per day and I can walk without any pain at all. I have been on a dose of 300mgs for over a year now, before the LYRICA I was wearing the PHENOIOL 100mg patches and boy comming off of those liked to have killed me.
So good luck,
Wendell Maddox

OK everyone. I just started Lyrica. I was taking Nuerontin. I have peripheral neuropathy in my feet and now my hands. I read the side affects and it says can cause swelling of feet and hands and weight gain. I have already gained 80 pounds from steroid shots and live with pain. I am going to give Lyrica a chance. Know this. I take Paxil. My doctor wanted me to go off of it to see if that was causing weight gain. I aked him are you sure you want me to go off of it cold turkey? He said yes and I wound up having bad withdrawal symtoms and had to go to the hospital. The doctor said that take one when you get home. If you aren't dizzy and sick, you know for sure it is that. And it was. I am back on it. But never believe any medicine does not have side affects or withdrawal symptoms.

Lyrica does work. Those who are just starting, give it some time. That is what the PA told me. I am being patient, but I can't wait until I am totally pain free.
