The tablet isn't working as well for me either. My blood pressure has gone up.

Yes, Val is correct, there is a shortage on Triamterene. It was reported to the FDA several months ago, however, no reason for the shortage was given.

In addition, there can be fluctuations in the amount of the active ingredient in generic medications, so the tablet may have a little less of the medication than the ones you were previously getting. These fluctuations don't affect everyone, but there are some people, such as yourselves, that are sensitive to these fluctuations and can have problems with it.

Have any of you spoken to your respective doctors about the problem, yet?

You may need to switch to a different medication, until this issue is resolved.

A similar one would be Spironolactone:

Neecie,
I heard the capsules were in short supply but the tablets are suppose to be available. But they don't work the same for us it seems. Wish someone who knew would post something for us.

I'm here in Texas and I'm having the same issue. I used to take the small green tablet 37.5mg. and when that became unavailable they switched me to the higher dosage, breaking it in half. It seems that I have to take 3/4 of the pill in order to prevent fluid retention. I am now unable to even get the 75mg tabs to break in half. I've been without medication since Sunday... Not good. No one can tell me what is going on with the meds.
