Kia-ora hello etc..I have been taking diazapam for some years, however its been more than not..actually when I can get them, as my doctor, doctors reckon I don't need them for reasons I have no exact reason for?? Recently I have had downed 15-5 mgs in the last week an am due to have a blood test for what the experts say sleeping pills. Okay yes that makes me a drug addict, as I know it will come up positive, an that will mean I need help! However, the drug I have been taking for some years now, has helped me through some extremely tough times, an has been an unconditional supplement for me. My doctor/doctors do not think I need this prescribed medication! I honestly think I do in this point in time.
Your opinion will help my journey!!

Valium and Klonopin are narcotics. #1 I am a nurse and we have to do narcotic counts on these medications every shift. #2 My daughter takes Klonopin due to Epilepsy and her doctor can only write her prescriptions for a certain amount because it is a narcotic.

I dont want to scare you, or piss off any of the other people who answered your question on this subject, but most of them answers that other people posted, were incorrect. I went to Nursing School 2 years ago for my LPN, and I still have all my books and notes from classes. So first, I would like to say that its very hard to give you ONE straight answer. There is noone that can guarentee the drug will be out of your system in X ammount of days. EVERYONE is DIFFERENT!! You say you took 30mg of Valium in 4 days. Ok...well thats alot of Valium. I am not going to judge or make comments on here as to why you took that much, because its none of my business, and its none of anyone else's business either. So for the people who made comments to you for you to "get Help", they have no business TELLING YOU what to do. If you feel you need help, then you can do it on your own. Your an adult. But back to the drugs...ok, valium (or diazepam) is a long acting Benzo. Actually its 1 of the longest. All benzos are primarily used for the same purposes, but different ones stay in your system longer than others. Valium has a half life of approx 20 hrs. In order for a drug to be out of your system FIVE half life's have to pass. So...by that info alone, you could figure out what 20x5 equals and you can go by that number of hours for it to be out of your system....but in YOUR case, I would bet any money that # of time would still be wrong. There is other facotrs to take into consideration when it comes to a drug leaving your system. It depends on how big you are, how much body fat you have, what kind fo lifestyle you have, such as an active lifestyle where your moving around or working out, or if most of your day is spent with little activity....then there is your diet. If you have a healthy balanced diet then your metabolism will most like be faster, than if you didnt have a good balanced diet. It depends on how long you have been using the Valium, and also by how much you take at 1 time. ALL these factors are VERY important. So if someone "assures" you that the valium will be out of your system in 3-4 days, they are INCORRECT. There is NO way for someone to know when the drug will be out of your system because they have no idea of all the facotrs you have, that I just mentioned. EVERYONE is different, because our bodies all work differently. Buy a home drug test the day before you know your getting a drug test for work or school, or for whatever reason you get one done, and this way you will have a heads if your system is still detecting the drug. Those home kits are 99% active, and they sell up to 12 panel drug tests either at CVS, Walmart, GNCI believe, etc. So spend the $30 and buy 1 a day or two b4 your real test and if you still are coming up positive for benzos, start flushing your system and taking something to boost your metabolism. They have tons of things at GNC to help you. You could also drink 1 of those detox drinks, and they might work...but I am not saying they defiantly do, because I dont know for sure,,,,but its just another option you may have. I know there not cheap tho. Good luck and I hope you pass your test. ~JXXX

I'm on methadone maintainance which requires that I have nothing else in my system. I took 50mg of valium on january 13th, I tested positive on january 23rd. since I tested positive they are now testing me once a week for 6 weeks. Any word on when I will be able to pass? I've been taking niacin since the 23rd.

Klonopin and Valium are not narcotics, they are benzodiazepines. You should not supply responses to serious questions without experience or knowledge on the subject. I am also weary of users who claim testing positive for Benzo's after 4-6 weeks? The math on the half life makes that seem impossible. I believe if that's true, they were heavy users, not 2-3 10mg pills a month ago and nothing for 4 weeks resulting in a positive test.
