Hi, I have the exact problems as you, cant just eat anything! I use Sucralfate 1 GM tabs. What it does it coats and heals your stomach, you take it 1 hr before you eat on a empty stomach. Or you can take it 2 hrs after meals. I take it 3 times a day. Ask your dr about it.

Have you thought of just going to a doctor? It could easily be an ulcer so the sooner you get rid of it, the better. Nasty buggers called H-pylori helicobacter may be to blame. Get rid of them! Easy peasy! Life back to normal!

I had the same problems. I slept with my tums bottle. The only thing that worked for me was Nexium and I got relief right away.

Ranitidine is the active ingredient in Zantac, so it is the same medication that you've already tried.

However, for these, or other similar medications to work, they do need to be taken daily, for anywhere from 8 to 16 weeks, depending on your condition and the severity of it.

They work by reducing the amount of acid produced by the stomach, to allow conditions such as ulcers, GERD and gastritis to have time to heal.

And as to eating, yes, you may need to watch your diet for awhile, too. If there are certain foods that trigger the problem, you will need to avoid them.

Have you seen a doctor and had any testing done?

Not everyone with these types of conditions requires gastric surgery. I was diagnosed with severe gastritis and it was simply a matter of avoiding spicy foods and taking Pepcid for several months, until my stomach could heal.
