I am taking flexeril for miscle tightness in gace, just noticed warning about heat stroke, does that mean I can not use heating pad for pain issues? ## Hello, Debbie! How are you? No, that means that you shouldn't be out using a sauna, or a tanning booth, or spending a lot of time in the hot sun. This medication may make you more susceptible to such extreme temperatures. The FDA classifies this medication as being a muscle relaxant and its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. When using a heating pad, just be careful that you don't start to feel overheated and try not to leave it on too long. Found a very small, peach-colored pill. Has the number 282 on one side, and "IG" on the other. I think it's a 5mg flexeril, but would like confirmation please. ? ## Hi Kathleen, From what I could gather, a round peach pill marked with IG on one side and 282 on the other, is reportedly identified as a 5mg Cyclobenzaprine tablet - the generic for Flexeril. Apparently it's a muscle relaxer but has an off-label use for fibromyalgia as well. And for added verification, this pill is listed as being manufactured by a company called InvaGen Pharma. It also carries a National Drug Code of 68462-0552. I hope this info helps!

wisted my knee and I'm having severe pain and swelling. Will flexeril help ease this pain so I can sleep? ## Hello, Shoshimom! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in pain. According to the FDA, Flexeril contains the active ingredient Cyclobenzaprine and is classified as a muscle relaxant, so it likely won't help much. Its typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. Some cold compresses and Ibuprofen, may help, if your doctor approves. Have you contacted your doctor, yet? Any time you have swelling like that, you should have it checked out.

I took three 10 mg flexeril all at once 6 days ago today (Monday)so its been almost a week ago. I read that the half life is 18 hrs but some sites say possibly up to two weeks for it to fully clear your system. I'm not a regular user at all. I have to take a urine test for a government position tomorrow an I'm pretty sure its the kind they send off. I've been drinking about a gallon of water all day. My question is. Do u think its completely out of my system by now I'm about 5'9 180 pounds. PLS HELP MEEEEE!! ## It shouldn't show up. It's a non narcotic. But some over the counter things show up so it might. If bet it won't tho.

Can 370 mg of this medication kill someone? ## From what I've read, the recommended dose of Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) is 5 to 10mgs three times daily; which would amount to 15 or 30 mgs total. I'm not sure why anyone in their right frame of mind would consider taking anything more than that, but 370mg is just ridiculous and careless in my opinion. Do you know if this person is even still alive right now or are you simply speaking hypothetically? In case of any overdose, you should probably be prepared to call your local poison control center or emergency hotline first and foremost. Waiting for a possible response on a forum may not be the best idea if the person you know really is dying from this overdose. I hope this helps!

I suffered from severe sciatica about 8 months ago. I was taking heavy doses of NSAIDS as they were the only thing that helped with the pain. My doctor proscribed me flexerol to help with muscle spasms. 2 weeks into taking flexerol as proscribed, I was hospitalized for what I thought was a heart attack. It turned out I had tetracardia and my heart rate was 200 bpm. The doctors told me I was having panic attacks and basically dismissed me after that. I thought this was crap as I am 28 and have never had any problems with anxiety or panic attacks. I immediatlywill quit takinga Flexerol. After discharge I had continuing problems with chest pain and shortness of breath. It is now 6 months later and I am completely off NSAIDs. I still have problems with chest pain and shortness of breath. Th...

My insurance company informed me that they will no longer cover prescription for Cyclobenzapr for patience over 65. Because of the problems seniors develop from this drug. My doctor did not know what they meant and said I could just pay for it and still get it. $4.00 at Walmart so I will continue but is the insurance co. correct or lying, is it dangerous for seniors, if so in what way? Very concerned! ## Hello, The concerns that your insurance company expressed may actually be valid. Based on my research, the FDA states that the use of Flexeril (Cyclobenzaprine) In the elderly may increase the frequency and severity of adverse events associated with or without concomitant medications and should be initiated with a 5 mg dose- then titrated slowly upward. That is the most pertinent inform...

It is used to treat migraines; headaches; pain and fever; as well as osteoarthritis.
