The patient is on trimethoprim for prophylactic treatment of uti ,she is getting it every night and now prescribed ciprofloxacin for wound infection can I administer it on the same time or witheld trimethoprim while she is on ciprofloxacin

It is listed to use Ciprofloxacin in caution with the elderly, not as a do not give it to them and the reason for it is due to the increased risk of tendonitis and tendon rupture.

If you are concerned about him using both antibiotics, then you should contact his doctor and express that concern.

Label warning say do not give Fluoroquinolones (Cipro) to elderly, but they can affect anyone. Search Facebook for Fluoroquinolone or online saferpills.org.
