I am on 26 mg of Methadone and I take 600mg of Mucinex every 12hrs., but I got a prescription for Doxycycline 100mg 2 times a day for 7 days. Can I take them all together? ## According to the University of Maryland Medical Center (umm.edu / drug interaction tool), there are no interactions listed between Methadone, Mucinex and Doxycycline. While this doesn't necessarily mean that no interactions exist, it is my hypothesis that this combination is generally regarded as safe. My doctor put me on Doxycycline for 3 weeks after noticing a bullseye around a bite on my arm. I was outside three days earlier in an area that had tick warnings, so she had a strong suspicion it was Lyme. But the bite actually had two puncture wounds and not the typical bullseye where you see a distinct ring around it. So now I’m thinking it might actually be a spider bite. I’m concerned I might be on antibiotics for no reason. Is it harmful to be on antibiotics for so long if I’m not sick? She did a blood analysis, but said it will most likely come back negative since I just got bit. I was told the blood work won’t show anything for another few weeks, so I could be taking a risk if I stop the antibiotic. Does anyone know if a tick bite would have two punctures?...

Doctor gave me doxycycline and said to start taking it if i got worse. I took a nap and awoke in a worse state. If i take one now at 3:30pm can i take another tonight at 12:00; then tomorrow go every 12 hours? ## Ideally, it should be taken as close to 12 hours apart as possible, according to the FDA. Can Doxycycline be used to treat a middle ear infection? This is my second round of antibiotics. Was given Cefdinir first for 7 days & it helped but the infection is still hanging around. My Doctor prescribed Doxycycline ww27 20mg it is a green pill. I've been using Doxycycline mp573 20mg a white pill. The difference is the green pill, since I've been taking them about 4 days my mouth is in such pain. I stopped using them. There is a tag on script bottle that the color and shape is different but is the same pill. The phamacy made the change are they the same. ## How many days did you take the pills so that you were cured? ## Jerry, can you please double check the markings? A tablet with marking of WW27 is listed a being blue and containing 20mgs of Dicyclomine, which is most commonly used to treat conditions such as IBS, it is manufactured by West-Ward. I have a past history of syphilis (20 years ago) and was treated. My diagnosis had shown negative up until this year - rpr 1:1 as of 6/30/2017 and Ftb/Abs positive as of 2 weeks ago. As of 8/12/2017 I took doxycycline 100mg twice a day for 14 days. Ftb/abs positive after treatment & contagious. ## It could be that you were given the wrong antibiotic, it is usually recommended that it be treated with Penicillin, unless the person is allergic to it. Generally, it only requires one large dose, according to NIH reports. I was prescribed both amox-clav 875mg and doxycycline hyclate 100mg. I read the pharmacy info that came with the medications. Both state DO NOT TAKE with the other. Why would the doctor prescribe both? ## The reason a possible interaction is warned of is because the Doxycycline and the Amoxicillin in the Augmentin can cancel each other out at some doses, so it may be like not taking any antibiotics, at all. i've been on doxycycline for a little over 2 weeks now (100mg 2x daily) for lyme disease...about a week ago i started getting sick with what i believe is the flu (fever, chills, nightsweats, sore throat, nasal congestion, headaches, body aches, etc)..it's been 7 days of it with no end in sight...the headache is really debilitating...can i take a percocet for the headache while on the doxy?
